OneDose for hospitals and health systems

Medication safety across every service you run.

Hospital-based EMS, critical care transport and the emergency department each get custom dosing, barcode scanning and medication safety rules built around your formulary and policies, on one platform you manage.

Where OneDose fits

From the field to the ED.

Three care settings, one platform, each set up around your own formulary and policies.

Hospital-based EMS

The ambulance service your hospital runs. Your protocols on every phone, offline and always current, with weight-based doses calculated from them and the vial scanned before it is given.

Critical care transport

Ground and air teams with expanded scope. Infusions, drips and devices in guidelines of their own, with doses calculated from your protocols, not a generic reference.

Emergency department

Dosing built around your formulary and policies, not a generic reference. Barcode scanning confirms drug and concentration, you choose which medications require it, and every override is documented. ED physicians on medical control see the same protocols their crews use.

Health systems

One system for every service you oversee.

Many health systems run their own transport, set medical direction for agencies they don’t employ and stock those agencies’ drug boxes. OneDose keeps each service’s guidelines separate, with one view across all of them.

  • Guidelines by service. EMS, critical care, flight, the ED and community programs each keep their own protocols and dosing.
  • One source of truth. Protocol changes reach every provider in the app, not a reprinted PDF.
  • Recalls in hours, not days. Notification Center pushes recalls to every provider and tracks who acknowledged them.
  • Affiliated agencies, too. Reach agencies that restock from your pharmacy the same way.

Medication safety

A barcode check before every dose, wherever it’s given.

Inpatient units scan against an order. On scene, in flight or during an ED code, there often isn’t one yet. eMACC™ checks the vial itself, so the dose is verified either way.

  • Barcode verification. The scan confirms drug and concentration, links it to the weight-based dose and records the check.
  • Controlled substance tracking. Pharmacy inventory tracks which vial went into which box. OneDose Narcotics records what happens after: the dose, the waste and the restock, with no paper sheet in the box. A partner’s PIN or a hospital nurse witnesses each waste, recorded by name and role.
  • Set to your formulary and policies. Concentrations match what you stock, you choose which drugs require a scan, and every override is logged for review.
  • One ledger for every kit. Supervisors and compliance see administrations, wastes, restocks and counts for every unit, with discrepancies in one queue.

OneDose Narcotics is available now, built around the DEA’s EMS recordkeeping rule (21 CFR 1304.27). No patient name or date of birth enters a narcotics record. Each registrant remains responsible for DEA and state requirements.

Proof

A regional recall, handled the same day.

University Hospitals’ pharmacies supply drug boxes to EMS agencies across Northeast Ohio. When an epinephrine recall hit, they used OneDose to reach every affected provider the same day. UH was also the first major health system to roll out eMACC barcode checks across 300+ EMS agencies.
